Educational and Developmental Psychologist

Maddison is a registered psychologist, who is trained in the field of Educational and Developmental psychology. Her approach is client-centred, with a focus on evidence-based interventions. She ensures therapy is tailored to each individual, and endeavours to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Maddison’s key strength is her supportive and empathetic approach, which allows her to establish therapeutic relationships with ease. Maddison has experience working with a range of presentations across the lifespan, including depression, anxiety, trauma, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, work stress and parenting difficulties.
Maddison has a strong interest in maternal mental health. She is currently completing her PhD on the safety and efficacy of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for postpartum depression (PPD) at Monash University. She published a systematic review in June 2021 and is currently recruiting participants for her research trial on TMS for PPD.
Maddison practises a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored toward the needs of the individual. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Attachment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
