Helen is a Clinical Psychologist with 9 years of experience across not-for-profit, private, and forensic settings. This also includes supervising a team of psychologists working with complex forensic clients.
Helen’s main strength is her core understanding that people need to feel understood and accepted for their true selves. She strives to connect with clients through her warm and compassionate approach, as she understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship in promoting positive change.
Helen is passionate about working with young people and their families to provide support through the many life transitions that present. She believes that therapy can be a stepping stone for people to develop strategies to help them live authentically and closer to their values.
Embodying a strengths-based model, Helen works from a mix of therapeutic modalities with her clients. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and principles from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
As a Board-approved registered Supervisor, Helen can also provide supervision services to early career Psychologists, Registered Psychologists, and those enrolled in a Clinical Registrar Program.
Outside of psychology, Helen is enriched when spending time outdoors, travelling, and getting some beach action whenever Melbourne lets the sun shine in!
